Default Finally it feels great!

I bought this 2006 Softail Standard EFI last year. It was not the way I wanted it by far but it had huge potential and was cheap enough to put some money in to make it right. I originally tilted the tall ape hangers back so that it was semi-rideable, but that was a stop gap measure. I initially tried 9 inch risers with 1" or 1-1/2" pull back but that wasn't perfect. The hardest part of the job was the wiring was inside the ape hangers and they were all the same color wires! I had to wait until a warm spring day to tackle that mess.

I am now running Buckhorn bars off of a 90 something Sportster, 6.5" with 1" pullback risers. All cables and lines are stock Harley standard length and working fine. The seat is a Mustang. I got rid of the 200 - 55 - 17 rear wheel and am running a 130 - 90 - 16 Dunlop 402 on a brand new take-off laced wheel from some newer Sporster that I paid $200 for! That was a deal!!! The bike handles very well on the road, and is actually fun to ride now. It maneuvers very well at very slow speeds, i.e. parking etc. On road trips I just don't want to stop; it feels that good. I will add pics showing progress and final product (for now anyway).
