New Fatboy runs crappy
98 FLSTF I just got has 7000 miles
symtom: runs fine when cold then breaks up when warm to hot.
Tests: tested coils ok,wires seem ok on coils tight not broken
when it was hot the rear cylinder produced no to weak spark
On bike :it has an S&S carb,Screamin Eagle slip on slashes,Dyna S single fire ignition and has (2) 5 ohm NEW Dyna coils,Screamin Eagle RPM Module
Question : Screamin Eagle can this be removed and run or has to be in line with ignition?
Question: I checked all parts and made sure prior owner installed compatible items.
WHAT the **** is wrong hardy bike was ridden Im a BMW tech and not that familiar with troubleshooting Harley any help appreciated

It really sounds like a bad coil. When spark is affected by temperatures, that makes me think your coil is failing.
do this: take a hair dryer with the bike idling, heat the coil up
if the motor dies then you know that’s the part.

If you can- swap out your spark plug wires with a set off a buddies ride- or spring for a new set. Could be an intermittant wire break. Drove me nuts!! I had a set of cranes that were great on starting- but as it got hot - the wires were f'ing up. Bought new accel wires- fixed my issue.

Besides, you keep mentioning you're a BMW mechanic. It's an engine... think logically what it could be.

I Put on two brand new Dyna coils $120 no luck I gotta put in more work I guess? would rather be riding my own bikes
