Default Lowering

I would like to lower my 2012 Heritage Softail Classic 1 to 2 inches as I am vertically challenged 5'3 .
and would be interested in suggestions on the best way to accomplish this with out compromising ride quality or as little as possible
Thanks

I lowered my Heritage a while back with Progressive lowering kits and there was little travel in the suspension. It beat the hell out of me and the bike handled like crap. I finally raised it back to stock height. If I had to do it all over again, I would spend the money and buy the fork springs and shocks for a deluxe.

My 04 had an SE model that came with progressive wound shorter springs in front and longer shocks for the rear. Also had the proper stand.

Least it was safe. Both are really a compromise since whatever you chop off reduces travel. When it hits the bump stops, it's abbrupt.

Air shock makes transmission oil change out the top unless someone corrects me on one that does not.

At your height, you do need to be extremely careful where you stop. My short friend who had a King dropped it three times before deciding to get a Fatboy. He has dropped it a couple of times

Do both ends, lowering the back effects the rake in the front. It is a compromise, you will have less travel you can bottom out. And drag and scrap parts. But you will be able to touch a lot easier

I can touch the ground not flat footed but the ***** of my feet on the ground just wanted to lower it a little so could roll it backwards a little easier.

Here's a link to a lowering kit that is supposed to keep the suspension working as designed.:

I had A Fatboy lo. It didn't ride near as smooth as this Heritage Classic does .
how much did the Burley brand effect your ride smoothness !
