I read about using a thread chaser on another, tech motorcycle forum, that I read. The cleaned bolts allow for the proper torque when using a torque wrench, and allow you to use the correct type, and amount, of threadlocker when needed. This has turned out to be the most used tool in my home shop..
I picked up this heat gun off CL for $40 in like new condition..It doesn't get them cherry red like a torch but so far it has works fine with the narrow nozzle for heating up thread locker and corroded bolts with Liquid Wrench to break them loose.
I got the passenger foot pegs removed. I had H & K Cycles in Livermore, CA to loosen the bolts and I only paid what it would have cost for a good quality 3 inch 45 Torx. It pays to have the right tools. I was using cheap tools, which broke. Not anymore!

Great advice. And for heating the bolt, it's easiest to use an electric hot air gun as you can heat it up nice and gradually and not worry about burning any paintwork.
Thread chasing kits are an excellent investment - especially if you are rebuilding an old (or building a new) bike.
I also swear by a three foot, half inch breaker bar and good quality sockets.
Heat, good tools and gentle but powerful application of torque will sort most things.
I am trying to remove passenger foot pegs on my 2018 Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic to install Saddle Bag guards. The bolts will not break. I have broken a bits and sockets. With an extension and 1/4 driver, a breaker bar and an impact driver did not work to loosen the bolts.
