Arced Ignition
So I'm going to change out the ignition on my 1990 Heritage Softail Springer. I was getting everything ready and laid out near the bike and I set the new ignition on the bracket where the speedometer was and when I reach down to pop the seat off to unhook the battery the new ignition rolled down and somehow a wire attached to the new ignition and a post on the new ignition touched the old ignition and the wires and arced. I hurried up and unhook the battery after knocking off the new ignition and noticed that the lead on my negative terminal had melted a little bit. So I happen to have a new battery so I put it in and I have nothing in terms of power and I can feel the heat generating on the negative terminal. So I'm wondering is there some kind of fuse or something I should be looking for or do you think it fried stuff or do I just need to take it to a professional?
