Has anyone here installed the fairing lowers for touring models in 2018&up softail?
I have a set off of a road glide (2015) that I traded in and trying to figure out the way to install them on my new bike, 2018 sport Glide.
Since the touring lowers are designed to mount to the touring guards, you will probably need to fabricate an engine guard that meets the same dimensions. The lowers clamp over the bar, so I would think it difficult is not impossible to modify them to fit different bars. I havent measured the HD bars for the softails, so I dont know how far off they are.
You can make anything fit.....with enough time and/or money
With that said I am fairly sure the bars are different enough that you will need to modify the lower fairing or the bars.
If they are fiberglass lowers it should not be that big of a deal, if they are plastic I have not tried it yet and am not sure.
But they make plastic welders so I bet it can be done.
Does anyone make aftermarket lowers for softails?
Could be a fun winter project, I reworked a trunk a couple years ago (for my old 01 EG).

I guess Ill have to go back to the old school way of modifying a bike:
i have to make it fit, like back in the day, when most every custom parts were labeled universal fit which meant it wouldnt bolt on to any bike but we had to make it fit. Lol
i guess thatll make it that much more special when done.
