I have a 2018 Lowrider. I am really enjoying this bike!
I do however miss the older style, longer Jiffy Stand. The increased lean angle and the way that it “locked” into place just felt secure.
The new model does work, but it takes some concentration to ensure that it is all the way forward before leaning the bike fully over onto the stand. Even then, you need to be careful that the stand is fully forward and aligned with the perpendicular slot that it will rest into.
Has anyone attempted to use the older style, longer stand with the new model Softail? If so, can you share the HD part number(s) used?
The Jiffy stand on the new softails are located further toward the rear than on earlier models that used tje longer stand. Thus the reason they are shorter.
Totally agree the older style stands would be nice but I dont think they will fit under the primary if mounted in the new location, and there is no room to move the mounting foward any.
It took a little getting used to on my 18 Heritage but I just give it a good tap to make sure it's locked and it's really no bother.
Yep. That extra tap can be important. Tried to set it down over a seam in the concrete the other day which kicked the stand out of lock. That could have been non-optimal. Gotta keep an eye on that thing.
