The Heritage is a awsome bike, And no harder to clean the any other bike. I added the whitewalls now they can be a pain in the ****. I just use the bike jack and magic eraser's. Man do theylook good when clean. I love the fatboy look but the Heritage is so versitile for trips or around town. Good Luck. Tom
You'll love the Heritage. My wife actually wanted a Deluxe, but I talked her into the Heritage. By the time I added a windshield and bags, the Heritage was cheaper to start with. Not to mention it's more comfortable. Make the trade, you'll be happy with it. It's no big deal to keep clean.
"I went in to buy the fatboy as well.......then the salesperson pointed out that with the extras I wanted, the heritage was more in line with my thoughts. Never looked back. Cleaning is easy, bags are not a problem.....simple removal. Yeah, it takes a minute or two, but man they look nice when your all done. Spokes are no big deal....soap and water and your rewarded with a great look.
Good luck with your decision."
Thanks,
That's exactly the conlusion I've come to, but AFTER the fact. The $$$ I've put into the Fatboy already is triple what the Heritage would've cost up front and I still need a seat and h-bar change to make it ridable for more than two hours (another thousand buckswith cable/brake line changes). Then come the $600.00 bags! I'm sick of throwingmoney at modifications that I could have had since day one with the FLSTC.
The bags didn't look easy-off when I saw them. That's why I started this thread.
Well, threw some more money at her today and bought a Sundowner seat. Thought it might be a "cheap" solution. NOT! Went back in and sat on the Heritage and it felt soooo much better - STOCK! Gotta to talk to the Man on Thursday. This FLSTC is stunning!
The Heritage is an awesome bike , everything comes off in no time . Turn on the tunes get a bucket of beers a fine cigar . Soap her up and have fun that`s what its all about !
Thanks, Guys.
I'd be giving up a great 96 inch motor and six speed tranny, but it doesn't sound like the TC88 or 5 speed is ruining anybody's day so far.
Spokes, spokes, spokes. I've considered clean up time as a way to fully inspect every inch of my bike, and there are a lot of inches in those spokes. It's no harder to clean than any other machine and the cleaning to me is part of ownership.
