Question 2018 speedomter issues

speedometer kinda stopped working today. I noticed wile going down the road it was at 0mph, I pressed in the clutch and hit the breaks and it would register the speed and the gear/rpm would brighten back up. Any time with the clutch and break combo it would register. From a dead stop it would should speed until around 30mph or ( going into second ) when I was fully off the clutch it went right back to 0. None of my turn signals would show either on the readout, but would come back like the speedometer. I turned the bike off and it done the same thing. It's still under warranty, but wondering if it's and easy fix and if any of y'all have experienced the same issue.

Thanks.

I assume that you have done no electrical mods and the bike is otherwise stock......if that is the case then yea, bring it in under warranty and have them figure it out. I have no clue why electronics would go wonky like that. Too many possibilities.

I did add custom dynamic LED to the front turn signals.

When new trouble arises, always start with the last things YOU touched. It saves time.

Absolutely... some great advice. Always look to where the last work was performed before the symptom started. Also, always fix the "known" issues before attempting to cure an "unknown" issue. Many times they are related.

The only thing I will add is this. No issues with the lights until today. I did hook my bike up to a battery tender for this first time that morning. I wonder if i kinda knocked a wire doing that?

Does the red diagnostic light appear on your speedometer? If you have a voltmeter, read the voltage at the same place you plugged in your battery tender. Start the bike, voltage should read about 14.1 volts. It's possible you have high voltage at the speedo and that fault will shutdown the speedometer.

Here's a link I had posted regarding my speedo and turned out to be a bad voltage regulator

Thanks, I'll put the meter to it when I get home this afternoon. If that is the problem I hope I don't have the same experience at the dealer as you did (being that it is still under warranty).

It was reading around 17 on the meter. I took it to the dealership and told them what it was. Well, two weeks later I got it back. I would of done it myself, but free is free. Thanks again for the help.
