Primary/Transmission/Driveline/ClutchFind answers to general powertrain, primary and transmission. Have clutch issues and need suggestions? Post them here.
Recently I was stuck in traffic and used the friction zone to move along for a few miles. Towards the end I had to ride the brakes slightly to keep the speed down. The clutch would not fully disengage. No danger in getting it stopped. Just enough to keep the bike moving.
Should I go a half turn in or out on the adjustment screw. Do I need more than a half turn? Should I start from scratch and turn it in and back it out per manual? I would prefer just a small adjustment but not sure which way to go. It has to be close. Under normal conditions all is fine.
you got your clutch hot , and the friction plate's expanded..called clutch fade
take the above advice , and adjust it cold .
then dont slip your clutch for a extended period of time .
put it in neutral/clutch out when stopped in traffic.. I never hold still for any lenght of time in gear, it will fry your clutch.
If traffic is that slow , some guys pull off the road and cool down their machine for awhile..
