All,
Looking for advice from more seasoned riders: Seems odd that I would get disparate information regarding seat height of the latest Softail Slims. Doing some online research and I came up with a lower seat height for the 2015 model vs. the 2016-2017 models. Can anyone confirm if this is true one way or the other? I've sat on a 2015 and it seemed more cramped than a 2016 S that I sat on, but the 2016 S had aftermarket handlebars that seemed to change my posture (2015 had the original Hollywood bars). Wheelbase is the same and seat looks the same. Maybe it was the higher bars?
Dont worry about the Slim seat height... Which year model are you BUYing ?
You can lower the '12-'17 very cheaply as well as setting the sag for
your weight. If you want a pillow ride AND height adjustability, you
can and add a Shotgun shock.
Personally, I would go for a 2019 model for the new suspension and M8 engine.
I have recently purchased the 2018 slim and the seat height on that is 25.5 inches. I was at my local HD dealer yesterday looking to get mine lowered about an inch to inch and half. So far the shock that they normally use to lower the newer softails is on back order. Hopefully he will call me today with some good news
