I have a 2018 Fat Bob. It had the wheel barrow configuration for the rear plate which was ugly to look at. I changed it to the side plate but now I am faced with a problem of mud splash as well as dust even on roads without slush and water. Is there any way of getting around it. How is this issue managed in the US? Can someone give me a solution as I have tried to make a work around but not succeeded so far. Even my dealer is at a loss.
Thanks
Thanks. Currently there is nothing I am working on. I have just changed from the EU requirement of a rear number plate to the US side number plate. I thought of an acrylic sheet attached to the luggage rack which can be easily removed as and when required.

I think he meant to post a pic of the rear of your bike with the new US side number plate.. That way we can visulaize what the issue is..... It might stimulate suggestions....
You just have to deal with it! Or put a longer or lower rear fender on.
One thing I have found on long touring rides, is that a bag on the rack will catch most of it if it rains.
Your idea of a sheet attached to the luggage rack should also work. I thought about this, but never did it as I only have the rack on when I need to carry a bag....
Thanks everybody. Somehow the pictures are not getting uploaded. I spoke to the dealer and he also thought of the acrylic sheet extension from the rack. If everything works out I will post a picture of the same. In case anyone can throw some new ideas I will be grateful.
We have a "rain shield" in the works to go with our tag relocation mount for the 2018/2019 fat bob. It won't be available until after the new year though...
