My 15 was dangerously low, I couldn't wait to get rid of it. The lack of rear suspension travel hurt my back every time I rode it. The new (18+) frame I hear is night and day better than the 17s back. I'm looking forward to trying one out.
I have a heavy 200 rear Softail, it's a grinder, and I'm always reminding myself to take it easy. Softails are designed to style and they do that well. Nature of the beast.
I have no idea how guys get around on lowered Softails, very carefully I guess. You just adapt to the machine.
Sounds like youre a floorboard guy, so you probably wont like my answer either 😏
But.... I dont like boards. When I bought my 13 slim I told myself Id give em a chance. Scraped all the time, flat out hated the heel shifter (which I didnt use) being in my way. So I went with pegs. The dealer will tell you they dont fit, but the conversion kit for a fat boy bolts right on. I read some posts that said the kickstand needed to be moved, but I had no issues with just putting it back on as it was.
If youre gonna stick with boards nevermind, but it sure is nice not scraping .... 👍🏼

You are right I hate pegs, I like my feet nice and comfy, I do always take heel shifters off to, I like room to move my feet around. Thanks any way.
