Pipes help, plus he has blacked out lower shield. Hmmm.
Well you know chrome will 100% work. Black might need a little seasoning to balance it out. Maybe ride with the taped bars a bit a see if you prefer the view.
yea thats what Im planning on doing. Theres a guy selling some 12 apes with cables for 120 but there black I might just buy them and throw them on 120 isnt that bad plus I can keep the cables on and swap the bars in the future
i highly suggest trying a bike out with apes before you buy and install them. I got 14s on mine, and sometimes feel they are too long...wish i had left my original bars on honestly. Not going backwards now that they are on because it was a pita getting them on. They look cool as hell on my bike, but i dont see where people are coming from saying they are comfortable, i lost alot of comfort and control of the bike once these went on. Hard to make sharp turns, my hands go numb and are not above my shoulders so not sure whats happening.

Its these bars I like the look of and the height of the bars
Those look good. Might be 13? Hard to tell...12 - 14 is def in the ballpark. If you are doing your own labor seems like a worthwhile experiment. Maybe get cables that work with 14s in case you decide to go taller.

bar swaps are always a bit of a gamble...I put mine off for years and years. In the end I like them very much and for me they are very comfy. Oddly my lower bars gave me numb fingers occasionallly whereas these 14 apes dont. I know it has to do with angles at the shoulder and wrist but I guess its different for everyone. Im not experiencing any downside to my taller bars and they are a very fun ride for me, although they are at my max height zone...any taller and I wouldnt be happy. They really bring my Heritage to life for me. Hard to describe, but just a more engaged feeling.
Bars are a commitment to swap, but I think its worth getting it right for yourself.
My Dyna has stock drag bars, which I also like very much. Very different ride experience. I like going back and forth, but if I had to pick one it would probably be the apes.

Good deal. Not hard, but can be fiddly if internally wired. If they arent internally wired its a snap. Either way should be a cool project.
I'm running the 8.5 mini apes pn my 03 Heritage.
Very comfortable. If I would have been (buying) bars . . .
Knowing what I know now, I'd have bought the 10"
But I already had the 8.5's
