I dont like the look of the w/s on my bike but I do use it if I know I'm riding more than 100 miles on freeways or in bad weather. Otherwise I ride without it. 85% with out , 15% with.

I use mine most of the time. I have 2 half-helmets that I alternate wearing and the straps one of them creates terrible windnoise and the other doesn't. When I ride without the windshield, it gives me a sensation of flying. Kinda cool.

I do not have one any more... I went on a 500 mile ride on Sunday, lots of bugs, no rain, and no windshield. The wind in my ears is no issue, I wear ear plugs even when I had a windshield. If I was not wearing a helmet that would not be an issue. Anyway, when I get older (45 now), I will get another bike (Street Glide?), then I will enjoy a windshield.

any long trips and the wind shield goes on as well as a tbag, saddle bags and a bikers friend bag...
and now a windshield bag and soon (about a week) 2 chrome toolboxes..the windshield bag can be remounted to the top of the nacelle

I was debating this issue as well. Just took a 4 day 1800 mile ride with no windshield. No problems. I did have a rider backrest and a pack to lean on which made all the difference in the world. Honestly, the only thing that was sore was my butt due to using the stock seat. Eventually I wan to get a Street Glide as well, but will try to do it in addition to the Fatboy, not instead of it.

I don't know how people ride without a shield and no helmet or even a 1/2 helmet. It kills my ears at freeway speeds. I'm fine with a3/4 helmet and no shield, but I try to never leave town without it.
