The first mod you should do is replace all the uncoated aluminum on the engine. Especially the rocker box covers. These will corrode and get cloudy at the first drop of rain. Unless you never plan to ride in the rain, then they look pretty cool :P I've personally had the cruise control and heated griped installed on mine, love both upgrades. If you want a sissy bar, don't get a harley branded one, cheap cheap cheap chinese steel and bolts. Mine wasn't even painted all the way through so it was rusted decently. The passenger seat from harley isn't super great either, it's functional but rock hard.

I have wanted to do mini apes though. Please keep posting about your mods and experience! So few of us have the slim!

My guess is that you would find the Floorboard Extensions or Floorboard Reclocation Kit and very nice improvement. I know a bunch of other folks have, including myself.

Default A few mods to my 2017 Slim

I finally received my auxiliary lamps back from the powder coater. These are 5" lamps as compared to the 4" standard lamps. An old friend of mine bought them at Pep Boys in 1955 for $5. each. He gave them to me in 1969, and I have kept them in the original boxes ever since. I was saving them for a special project. I bought my Slim a few months ago and decided that this was the special project I had been waiting for. I also blacked out the headlight ring. I purchased the auxiliary lamp kit, #68000026, from Intermountain HD in Salt Lake City, Utah. Internet purchase for $169.95. All other dealers want $219.99.
I switched out my front fender for a Fatboy fender. Direct bolt on.
Added Kuryakin Slip ons in place of stock mufflers.
The stock seat was a killer to ride, so it was switched for a LePera.
Hi intensity LED lights were switched out at the rear. Talk about BRIGHT!!!
Just ordered a leather swingarm saddlebag from Leatherworks. Ordered the XL model. 5" wide instead of the 3 1/2" wide ones offered by all other companies.
The only thing left to do is to find a license relocation kit to move the plate to the rear of the bike. Anybody got any vendors in mind?
