After searching this forum and the web I haven't found a manufacturer that makes a direct fit of a paintable top box (trunk luggage) for a 2012 Softail Deluxe. Has anyone added a top box to their softail?
Thing is, and I'm sure you know this, it's not the actual trunk that is the issue, it's finding a trunk/mounting bracket combo. There are a lot of fiberglass trunks on the market, a search on Amazon or Ebay will bring up a bunch. If you just want to have a trunk, I'd get the tail rack kit from Harley https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...pak-mount-rack , and mount which ever one you like the best. It's going to take some drilling to get the mounting holes correct, but it should work. I went that route on a '96 heritage I had.

I have this rack for Reaper, and I installed a Harley Tour Pak on it. Works like a charm, and no need to drill holes. It mounts to standard HD detachable mounting hardware.

My wife is now leaning towards a 1 up mounting location like the pic above. Has anyone seen this type of installation hardware? Also, any ideas on who makes this specific box.
