Steering nut torque...
should be how many ft/lbs on a 2006 Softail Standard? I hear different things. I looked in the manual a while back, forgot what it said, but have heard we need to go a little more than what the manual says to prevent the loose clunk in the front end.
Anyone who took it to the dealer, or have done it themselves, what tq did you use?

Unfortunately, there is no specific "number" you use for the torque. Instead it is a procedure you do to get the correct "flop". If you can get a manual, it walks you through it. It isn't difficult to do, just takes a little time. Once you get it where you think it belongs, go about another quarter of a turn tighter. This allows if to slightly loosen on it's own. Good luck.

Yes. Do what Joey says. The procedure requires you to jack up the bike and remove the cables from the bars. Then you are looking for the bars to flop over something like 1 1/2" then add a bit like Joey says. Of course, you could always do it like I did and just tighten the nut but be careful and not over tighten the nut. I followed some of the crazy numbers shown here in athread I started a week or two ago asking the same question. I put in something like 60 ft/pounds and bent the washer underneath (I think that the Deluxe is a bit different than some of the other models). As I understand it, on most models there is a washer that is supposed to be bent up around the nut to lock it in place.
