Default New Tri-Bar

Here are the pics of the new LED tail light that resulted from my license plate incident yesterday. I opted to not put on the reflector assembly, mostly because I don't like reflectors, but also to give the whole apparatus a lower profile.

I am considering putting a black frame on it instead of the chrome one I am currently using so it doesn't stand out quite so much; any opinions on that idea are welcome.

Dave,
It looks really nice on there, chrome or no chrome the choice is yours. Either way I think it will look good.

BTW who's LED turn signals are they and how do they look with the Tri-Bar in daylight and after dark? I have been looking at different ones for my bike and think that the ones Custom Dynamics has seem to 'fit' best with my likes.

EDIT: you have to haveone of, if not the best looking Standards I have ever seen. [sm=Flahssssss.gif]Really nice work.

Keep the chrome frame, it matches.

Thanks, the compliments are much appreciated!

I got the LED's from Biketronics when I bought my load equalizer. If I recall, I believe he said they were Radiantz LED's. I like them because they fill in the entire signal lens, and they are BRIGHT. Brighter than the Tri-Bar tail light.

They look good with the Tri-Bar, but they are amber, and not used as running/brake lights. So if you are wondering if the red ones match, I can't really say.

You probably already know, but you'll need to get a load equalizer, too. I bought the Biketronics SmartEqualizer because of the low current draw, which means low heat, and the simple plug-in installation (some of the cheaper load equalizers say you can't use the 4-ways due to heat issues).

If you have questions about the LED's and the load equalizer, talk to Mike at Biketronics. He was very helpful (and knowledgeable) when I was going through the purchase.

Hope that helps.

Where does the load equalizer go? I understand the purpose... Wondering about physical location.

It just goes under the seat. You unplug the harness that connects the signals and the equalizer goes inline.

Thanks for the tip Dave. I knew about the equilizer and Biketronics, but don't believe that I have everheard of anyone else using their stuff so I was relictant to go farther with them. I like what they have to fit the stock housings and I will be checking with Mike about what's best.I would 'like' to get a set of the red version and make it into a brake/turn but if what you say about the brightness of the amber LED's is also true of the redI might not like them as much because it would tend to overshadow the Tri-Bar.
Do you have the fronts converted over as well, and if so did you need another equilizer or is one all you need for all four corners? I was thinking of swapping out at least the fronts for some mini LED's from Kuryakyn. But if the Biketronic bulb replacements are nice and bright that might not be necessary or even wanted.
