OK so I finally broke down and ordered some wild1's 16" apes! After reading all of the post (ok most of them) I see I need 10" over throttle idle clutch cables & 10" over brake line.. From reading J&P and Jireh cattlogs, I determined that for a 95 flstf
stock throttle and idle is 29.5"
stock clutch is 62"
The best Ive found is 38" on the throttle/idle (8.5 longer) , and 70" (8" longer) on the clutch cable..but wanna make sure Im buyin these things once.. Had a old sportster that ate clutch cables about once a month & dont wanna deal with after the fact issues.. Where are you guys gettin your cables?
my list of things needed to install is
new poly bushings
throttle / idle cables
clutch cable
brake line
extend the wires
Anything you can see that is gonna cause me a issue? I want this togo fairly smooth, dont wanna get stuck without a scoot for a weekend cause I didnt plan ahead.. Thanks in advance. [sm=deal.gif]
I have the Wild 1's 16" also.Your list of parts looks good to me.I ordered the + 10 cables from wallys cycle world.Like you I couldn't find them listed in any catalogs
I just installed my wild1 18" Chubbys I love them, I had to go with +12's . The ride is a little different as it wobbles when ur goin about 75 80 and u hit a bump on the road but nothing serious.
