Default 2016 Fat Boy throttle by wire

I now understand why the dealerships and other shops charge so much. i have done the bar swap myself on my Lola..........including unpinning and repinning the electrical plugs. got it all back together and fired up. Got a trouble code for the throttle. does anyone know if the TGS needs to be pre-clocked on install....or is it just line it up with the slots and go.? Any help here appreciated before i take it all back apart for possible broken wire. pretty sure the 6 wires in the lil plug are correct.....i never took the weather sealer off it...just pushed it up.... but maybe i got the 6 wires in reverse?

Maybe.
Or, like my bike when I changed bars threw a few codes which I cleared and they never came back. I think this happens just because the computer is sensitive to having things unplugged and re plugged.

There's no pre-clock, line it up with the slots and go.

Probably not your problem but ya never know. Use an ohm meter and check each socket of the connector to the handle bar. It's possible the insulation is knicked on a wire and shorting to ground.

Yours is a '16, mine is an '18 so I don't know if this applies to you or not. My TBW harness plugs straight into the frame connector and doesn't have one of those "green connectors" that is internal in the bar that I've read so much about, If like mine, 3 of the TBW wires have a blue band around them. Those 3 wires go into the side of the connector with the latch. I have no idea why the he!! they have 2 red, 2 white and 2 black wires instead of 6 with all different colors.

Like OldMike I had some historical trouble codes, when I first fired it up the check engine light came on. I read the codes, they were related to the fuel pump and sending unit. When putting things together I hit the switch to check a few things before I reinstalled the gas tank and that set the codes. I cleared them and haven't had a problem since.

Here's a pic of the tbw harness, you can see the band I'm talking about. Sorry about the size

Most excellent! Let me know how it goes after you redo the connector.
