Default Stiff? steering..

Got a problem with my springer softail ..

when i am coming to a halt it feels like the bikes steering is very stiff and its hard to control at low speeds.. slow turns are just as bad.. the bike feels remote.. not positive like it should..
Makes it fairly hard to come to a stop without feeling as though the bike wants to waver? if you see what i mean..

I was thinking that possibly the head bearings might need some attention... what do you think it could be?

Check your tire pressure first, then the neck bearing preload. I suppose it's possible that the spokes need tuning, but that usually makes a bike feel like Cosby's "oogly woogly shopping cart".

Cheers Oldtimer.. Have checked tyre pressures and they are spot on.. looks like i will run the bike down to the only decent indy i know locally here in the Uk an dget him to check out the headstock bearings.. The forks definately need adjusting anyway, as they tend to stick wherever they are turned to..makes it not too much fun .. ok for normal riding, but slow stuff is tough...
