I haven't mounted them yet, was waiting to hear back on your experience. Not sure about them now. My bike is tune properly, not sure I want to sacrifice that for a little deeper sound. Hmmm, decisons, decisions...
depends are you going to run with just the TM Baffles or go with stock and TM Baffles. if just the TM baffels, it takes like 15 mins to install, you can always remove if you do not like it.
spoke with Jim at TM and he said that installing the section of baffle before or after the TM baffle wont affect performance. just make sure to locate the TM at 6 in or further in.
I guess is I was doing it over again I would have moved the TM into 7" in from the end + 4" for the baffle would have put it around the front of where the old baffle was... then cut off the last 4" from the stock baffle and reinsert.
right now I will cut the stock baffle down to 5.5" and stick in the end and resuse the same mounting holes. that should do the trick hopefully.
Well, i got my TMs installed. Due to the curve in my heat sheilds, I have to take theentire exhaust system off to get the old baffles out and the new TMs in. I started it and it is definately louder and deeper. It was in my garage so that will amplify the sound a bit. I will post back once I have a chance to ride it.
oh sorry forgot a tip to remove the baffles, if you can reach in and screw the mounting screw from the inside, you can then use that screw with a locking wrench and a hammer to hit the wrench and pound it out...
you will see when you get on the throttle under load the bike will get alot louder... it growls. its at least one octive lower... sounds great. like the Harley rumble we all know ...
its that low rumble when you hear a group of harleys coming up the road... well with the TM Baffles it makes the bike sound like that large pack coming at ya... just a little too loud for me.. so tomorrow night half the baffle goes back in with the TM Baffle... should take the edge off the loudness. hope it doesnt affect the tone...
THEY ARE LOUD!!!! I still want to swap bikes witgh a bud and go cruising so i can hear them at all speeds tho. I want a different perspective than the saddle
