Default 2016 Fat boy floorboards

Hello Guys, new to forum so please be gentle.

Bought a Harley after several sports bikes, Supermotos, etc. Now gone for fat boy after broken back and neck injuries!

Love the look of the fat boy but scraping floorboards annoying used to scraping elbow and knees, How do I get rid of these! And increase lean angle a little not expecting much going round streets in uk is happening all the time, will mini boards help.

Love be the bike other than that, will ride through the summer but will modify next winter in the UK that will be from August onwards!!!!

Seen some options for Ł1250!!!! Got to be cheaper and better way to do this! Any help appreciated.

some fantastic looking bikes on here, hope I can get mine to same standard...

SO how much do you want to spend?
You can change out the boards and even change the foot position (to a point).
BUT if you want to gain some-more cornering you can look at the rear suspension.
I have a deluxe and like the Fatboy it likes to through sparks (drag boards) on the corners.
I added a shotgun shock, I can get lower when I want and raise her up (and stiffen her up) for the corners when I want.
One of the rides we go on I used to drag through most (if not all) the corners, last trip I barley through sparks on one corner.

I still have my stock boards on my bike.

The least expensive way is floorboard extenders, they move the floorboards forward about 1" which also moves them up a little cost less than $ 100.
Buy narrower floorboards cost $200-500.
Convert to forward controls / pegs cost $ 1000 +
or
keep the floor boards loose enough that they easily fold and just replace them every year or 2 when you have worn through them. Thats what Ive done on both my Road Glide and Fatboy, when the boards edges are gone and it is wearing towards the inserts I buy new boards. Also even with the floorboards off and changed to forward controls remember this is a Harley and the Primary or exhaust will also drag / scrape, they dont have a lot of lean angle.

Thanks for replies been out constantly last couple of days a now a lot more use the riding style, got use to the scraping, although now taking corners wider and less lean so not as often, I was worried about boards digging in but they bend up easily enough, May get narrower boards when the wear out.

Thanks guys

I have kuryakyn riot floorboards on my 2016 fatboy S. They made a huge difference in cornering clearance, I haven't scraped them once and I do some fairly aggressive cornering. They are made out of aluminum and machines from a billet piece I believe. They cost about 180 USD. I'll also add that my feet stay in place on top of the floorboards, due to the aggressive ribbing. My stock floorboards had my feet sliding around alot .
I'll post a pic of them on my bike. See if the style works for you
