Default heritage 114 2 problems

1. fuel guage says 25 miles until empty. Fillup takes 3.2 gallons. should take around 4.5 gallons. Any help?
2. until last week, if I was near my bike without the fob, the lights would blink off/on. now they don't . any help?

I have a 2016 103 Heritage. Have always had the same problem. One time I ran the meter down to 7 miles left! Gasp! (Was my first long trip with it.) Only took 4 gallons. Okay...

Bear in mind that much like a similar system on a car, the number is dependent on two things:
1. Average of fuel consumption based on current riding. (Pulling a trailer? Drops! Going 90? Drops!)
2. It's quality of reading remaining fuel in the tank. I've read lots of reports from folks that they just aren't that accurate. My own experience shows that.

1. That's normal. The most I've ever put in mine is 3.7.

2. Mine have never blinked unless it was touched without the fob around.

The Miles to empty has never been very accurate on any bike or car I have ever owned. I usually just fill up every 150-200 miles.

As far as the lights flashing, I have Security on my Road Glide, (Installed recently, got the module for Christmas) and I know my friends lights flash when the get near theirs, but mine doesn’t) They do flash when I shut the bike off though. I will keep my eye on this thread to see what responses you get.

Common problem: fuel gage reads nearly empty with lots of gas still in tank. My 2018 FLHCS (Heritage 114) is the same. I just live with it and look at miles on trip meter (like Steelerdude1). I've checked mpg several times: 45-48. 45 x 5 = 225. The "range" states 218 or so each time I fill up so range is pretty accurate. It's the fuel gage itself that is off.

My 07 doesn't have the remaining mileage indicator, but it has the low fuel light. When that comes on I have 3/4 of a gallon left in the tank..
