Default Softail frame

Question deals with a pre-18 Softail frame specifically a 13-17. I have a 13 Fatboy and considering a 17 Heritage. Both are 103B engines and I'm guessing the basic frame is similar. Front forks vary with various models but is the main frame the same? I'm comfortable on the Fatboy, like the ride, but looking at adding a semi-touring bike. I sold my FLHTKL recently because the weight and higher CG was getting difficult as a result of back surgeries and issues.

Thanks

Basically the same Pre 2006 the same bike then the Fatboy went to a wider rear tire and shorter rear fender., Your 13 fatboy has a wider rear tire and shorter fender, different handlebars and wheels. Front forks / suspension are the same.

Overall the same basic frame, "B" engine and seating position.

Thanks I figured that the "core of the frame" was similar but I did find a difference in parts that will affect me. I figured I could move the Mustang sport touring seat to a 17 Heritage but they have different mounting brackets. With the 200 rear tire I know that passenger back rest and luggage racks won't fit. Well maybe the sissy bar pad. Nothing is simple.
