License plate mount removal
I just received a curved layback license plate mount from J&P that I am itching to install. But... how the heck do you get the stock mount off. I see the 3 screws that I need to remove but how do you get to them? Do you have to bend the bracket? Also does anyone know off hand what size the nuts are on the inside of the fender?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I don't know anything about the frame mount but the Turquoise/Sand paint is sweet! It was colors similar to those that caught my eye 45 years ago ( I was 10). A guy down the road from us had a dresser that looked so much like your Heritage. That bike has always been in my mind. I've got a Black/Lava Red '05 Heritage now. I waited a long time .........

Well, I dont know if its the correct way, but....... I sqeezed my hand underneath fender and found the nuts blindly. After i broke them free with socket i used my fingers to take them off... It was a pain, but looks awesome now.... BTW i reused stock fastners, the ones that came with my aftermarket braket were too long!!!!! SWEET RIDE!!!!! GO VOLS!!!! CAN FULMER and STAFF!!!!!

Got it!
Even though I couldn't get a screwdriver on the head of the screws I was able to slip a wrench up behind the fender to break the nuts loose. You can pretty much feel around for which ones you are looking for. Once I figured it out I had the old one off and the new one on in about 15 minutes. I really love the look of the new plate!

Hey Guys....I'm afriad to tell you but the easiest way would be to slide your hand up under the rear fender holding a small wrench or socket in place, then turn with your allen wrench on the plate side. It's a real pain and expect a few scratches on your hands but its the quickest and easiest way to get this task complete. If you have some little ones running around the house, this might be the time to put them to work....lol. Good luck....
