Yeah...140 hp out of a 100"??? Anyway...if your motor guy has been building motors for 40 years why are you here asking random people on the internet? Lol. There are alot of guys on here that know their ****. I'm just saying for every one good piece of advice I've seen 2 or 3 very bad ones. Your guy should have a combo that would work for your riding. Why's he doing it for free? Is he a friend? Well here's my crappy advice...skip the "kit" and get your cyliders bored and decked. With money you save by only buying what you really need ,you should buy a goid tuner...probably not an fp3...agsin just my crappy opinion

Whoops I misunderstood your goals . The commander doesn’t flash your ecm. It has to be connected to function. The dynojet power bison will flash and doesn’t need to be connected after unless you want to fine tune or monitor stuff.

I agree with with hatt, 140 sounds kind of optimistic.

edit : power bison haha.

I think you are referring to this bolt on kit from S&S. https://www.sscycle.com/performance-...ower%20Package They make some good "package" kits and everything is set up to work well together. So and easy install and all you need is a Tuner to finish it up. I agree with Hattitude above the Power Vision is a great and easy to use tuner. But if your upgrading an older 88 you dont have O2 sensors so it or any of the tuners out there cant do any self tuning you will need to either get it to a dyno for a custom MAP or get a MAP for or close to your build. Fuel Moto is the place to buy the Power Vision, they will do lifetime MAP support and help you tweak things if needed.

100/100 is probably the best you will ever get out of that kit with a lot of good tuning and with those cams probably more like low 90s. Check out the reviews on the S&S site in the above link users are very happy with the outcome but the true HP/Tq is closer to 90. My Fatboy is a 2005 that came with a factory 95 kit but stock heads and a very mild cam. I changed cams to SE 204, exhaust, A/C and pipes and with the Power Vision (originally I had a Power Commander) and a great MAP it made 91/95 last time on the dyno in 2011.

To get over 100/100 out of a upgraded 88 will take valve and head work. And as already said rods and welded or replacement crankshaft.

If you really want that kind of power buy a newer bike or do a complete engine replacement with something like a Ultima 107-113, S&S 124 or Jims but your starting at
$ 7000 plus labor, and then you get into transmission and do you want to keep belt drive or chain?

Whats the scoop with the Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner ?

When I got the 03, they had put pipes and an air cleaner on it.
It came with that Tuner.

This winter, I'd like to do cams & different pipes. Those VH straightshots are good
for setting car alarms off, but that's about it. This thing has NO mid-range power.

All this tuning & programming etc . . . I MISS MY CARBURETED BIKE !!!!
