Called the local dealer as my 07 has moisture in the speedo. He said it is NORMAL. Called Harley and never got to talk to anyone about it. On hold for 30 min. What a Company!!!!!!
I had the same thing happen to my Deuce. I took it to the dealership and they just cleaned it out for me. It's been fine ever since. Every now and then I'll get somemosture in my fuel guage after washing my bike, and after riding in the sun for a bit, it dries up. I'd just see if the dealership will clean it out for you. We have a pretty good relationship with the service guys here, so they were willing to help us out.
I had the same problem, every time the humidity went up I would get condensation under the speedo glass. I finally drilled a small hole in the plastic case of the speedo so some air could exchange. That solved the condensation problem, but I still have some residue on the inside of the glass. How do you get the glass out of the speedo housing? I couldn't figure it out.
NORMAL?? so it's OK to have water in the speedo in a $20K+ bike?? I have no problems with mine. But I've had something similar withthe fog lamps in my car. After three trips to the dealer for a solution and after they supposedly had "replaced" them twice, the problem was solved. Must've been a bad seal or bad batch.
Cant remember if the Speedo is sealed underneth or has some openings or not,but if you remove it and let stay on a nice AC vent for some time the moisture should go away particularly if it is vented. If not vented andyou can get in it, and there is a little room inside in the bottom somewhere, maybe a little desecant pack mightabsorb themoisture. Just changeit out. Pure speculation here, but a thought.
