OK sorry to just pop up with a question before saying HI.
I found my Dream Scoot [getting off a 04 sporty 1200 custom]
07 Soft tail custom BLACK at a good price. [new at the dealer]
The only thing I can not find out is
Drum roll
Does anyone make a taller sissy bar for her. I mean taller ?
Mind a another question ?
I hear tell they handle better than a WG. ?
Thanks all
I don't know about the taller sissy bar or how the WG handles.
The Softail Custom is a GREAT bike and if you have problems in the corners just lean harder.
Patience grasshopper, good things (like FXSTC's) come to those who wait.
As far as I am aware there are no makers of taller sissy bars, howevrr there is a guy who hangs around here by the name of skips69 who made one for himself that was taller and detachable. So I suggest that you try PM'ing him to see if he can help you out.
As far as the Custom vs. Wideglide goes in "theory" the WG "should" be a better handeling bike because the rear suspension geometery is a bit better and more solid. Get a real nut job ***** to the wall professional rider on them and really go to the very edge of the handeling envelope and there's going to be a difference. But for day to day street riding I really doubt the average rider could tell orexploit the difference.
One thing to be aware of is that with the new 96 inch engine that nice big fat rear tire can be forced to get a littleloose on tar strips and wet or uneven pavementwhile its leaned over, like going around a corner. Twist the throttle a little too hard at lower speeds in that kind of situation and its likely going to try to step out on you, so be careful.
Contact him and he could nudge you in the right direction. Also Glad to see you chose the FXSTC over the WG. I read your thread on WG/STC question ... you chose wisely

His is an '84 Softail. I haven't seen a taller "B" bar yet.
