I've been looking for a windshield and have seen a lot of of them available on ebay/CL etc but none have come with the mounting hardware that attaches to the bike's light. Called up my local HD dealership and they mentioned they hardware isn't sold separately? and only comes with the windshields. Not sure if anyone else has purchased used windshields before and was about to either get the mounting hardware part #s or DYI a makeshift bracket to accommodate the quick detach windshields?
I have a fatboy lo with the Deluxe Aux Lighting kit if that matters, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Would prefer to save a couple hundred and just get a used one if possible
I see that you posted in my other thread and I replied with some pics. I was looking to do basically the same thing and I did. I bought a used windshield & hardware from eBay for $100. Ditched the plastic for a new Long Ride Shield on that same hardware. Bought the parts mentioned in that thread and now I've got a detachable windshield.
Check out seller ridgetopcustomcycles on eBay. I bought my windshield from him. When the shipping turned out to be a little cheaper than expected, he refunded the difference into my PayPal account.
