Tune up a Deluxe 2006
Replace the spark plugs
Replace the air filter element.
On an 06.. Replace the plug wires. The Screaming Eagle wires look nice. Thats what I get.
They should check to see if any codes are present. On that year I've read the procedure but can't remember it.
Clean the MAP sensor.
Clean the inside of the throttle body and intake manifold
Check for intake leaks
Do a compression check
A low speed miss could be an intake leak. Idn.
Good luck

Once an EFI bike is tuned, that map never needs to change, unless engine components are changed (ie: intake, exhaust, cams, pistons, heads)...
Today's EFI tune-ups are just maintenance items to keep the bike in proper running condition...
I've had my '06 Deluxe for five years now and it had 40K miles on it. I did all the normal tune-up stuff AND popped the cover off and had a look at those. Needed a dental mirror to see the back one. They were good in my case, but I ended up putting gear drive cams along with a top end rebuild after a while.
The other known issue and the only one that left me stranded was the fuel pressure regulator cover inside the fuel tank. It's plastic and one day is just broke while I was ridin' down the road. Lost fuel pressure. Replaced it with a Trask aluminum cover. Yeah, it's a common enough of a problem to where someone makes a billet aluminum replacement piece.
Other'n that, I love my bike. I wouldn't trade it in on a new one fer nuthin!
