Default 2011 Fatboy Lo please help

I am trying to redo a very abused fatboy. It was not well taken care of. The frame is getting very dull black color. I cannot afford to tear it down and powder coat so here's mt question. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A WAY TO HELP RESTORE THE PAINT? maybe wax with buffing compound or something??? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I don't believe you'll get a very effective redo by leaving it all together and trying to work around other parts attached to the frame. But waxes on dulled paint are difficult to buff back to a gloss, provided you had original gloss paint on the frame. If you have a satin finish on your frame, spraying it down with light misting oil will (WD40) or similar) kind of moisturize the paint surface and get the blackness back, but only temporarily. You might try a Mothers product called "Back to Black". It will hold on to and permeate the paint for a good long while but not forever. Might need to do this twice per season. Me personally, I wouldn't try the waxing method in case the dull paint surface trapped the wax and you couldn't buff it out. It would look awful or try it on a hidden area first. However bikes tend to weather where they are exposed to elements and the areas that aren't exposed generally look better. So a waxed surface may have two different looks depending on the area erosion of the painted frame. I've used the "Back to Black" on different satin painted components of my bike and it works as I have described without damaging the paint. Best of luck

not sure if your frame is a satin black or gloss from your post? I have a 15 Lo tins are satin black after alot of research Dr Beasley's products for satin finish is what I use. If the frame is gloss black a polishing cream should work, good luck
