Default HD-removal

Have a 2007 Night Train and was just curious as I want to black it out as much as possible has anyone removed the Harley-Davidson plate from the side of the gas tank. Are they stuck on or bolted on? Thanks in advance.

They are usually put on with double stick tape or a substance like that most use heat and maybe fishing line to get them off heat it up put the fishing line behind it and pull across. There will probably be some sticky left you then need a solvent to remove it. Now on the paint on your bike i really do not now what to use for a solvent as i have never done this on that type of paint someone else will have to chime in with that info

A good paint shop can paint the plate in place, maybe use a different shade of black for just a little contrast.

tape off around it with masking tape.... scuff it up with a scotch pad... get some bumper black paint from your auto paint store and spray it.

wd40 is excellent for removing these gums and glues and it won't hurt paint. Use a cloth that has good size pores in it to aid in removal.

Let it warm up in the sun for a few minutes, then use fishing line to cut through the backing. Then use WD40 to clean up the residue like rbabos said.........

Edit : Oops....Sorry for the double post. I didn't see what nikon said above!
