Default headlight nacelle for a deluxe

I want to install a headlight nacelle on my 06 Deluxe, does anyone have one on their deluxe? I saw one in the HD book but it doesnt fit a flstn. I saw a bike (deluxe) with a nacelle and I was wondering what modifications are needed to make it fit. Thanks in advance.

wow, no replies yet?

wish I could help you. I installed mine about 9 years ago and don't recall where I got it. I know it didn't require any special mods to make it fit though it doesn't use a couple bolts that another model might (rear sides facing the rider). And the one thing I hate about it and will soon fix since I'm gonna be doing more night riding now, is how it angles up too much. I've adjusted the headlight all the way down and even over did it where it comes loose if I don't wrape some wire around it (da'oh!) and it still not low enough My passing lights are being used more for my lights right now. arg...

My 07 Nacelle fit with no mods, light bar needed some work, had to shave some of the spacers between the forks and the lightbar. Otherwise it was a pretty simple install.

I have a 05 deluxe and have done quite a bit of checking into putting the nacelle on my bike. i picked up some info off the forum here and also from a few dealers and here is what i came up with. if you get the passing lamp mounting bar for the heritage you wont have to do the grinding 07 deluxe has mentioned you will also have to change your risers if you want the cover to fit properly again you would need the heritage risers which are about three inches or better lower this now leaves you with a lot of slack in your cables as far as i am concerned three inches of slack is to much for the bike to look neat this was the deciding factor for me to forget about it I have all braided cables which would cost me close to a hundred dollars each. I love the look of the nacelle but the cable thing killed it for me also with a three inch drop in the bars I do not know how I would like that. If i get involved in this project I want it to be neat and right some guys have installed the nacelle and left the big opening on top not using the cover which i feel hurts the looks a bit. any way this is the info i picked up checking it out

What nikon said is only partialy correct if you did it my way,
I changed out my nacelle and kept the original risers; fit no problems, didnt like the pull back so I had them machined down to 2", looks way better with my beachbars. I didnt like the bulbus look of the Nacelles top cap so I tossed it and kept the deluxe's OG look. No gaping holes either, take a look at the picture I posted, JC whitney does sell a cover plate if you think you need it. As far as the cables, I'm still using the stock cables, unless your changing out your bars and risers you really dont need to change your cables; your nacelle has nothing to do with changing the cable lengths. Lastly, I guess you could go out and buy some new Heritage passing lamps to fit, or shave off a bit of the spacers from the lightbar you already have, your choice, your money. Good luck with your scoot and lets see some pictures.

BTW: those brackets you see next to the risers on my bar are for my Windvest/Sheild; just in case you guys start asking.

Thanks for replys, I think that will be my next modification. Will I still be able to use my windshield or will the nacelle interfere with the mounting?

If you use the oringinal HD windshiel you will have to trim the botom of the sheild larger to accomodate the nacelle, I only use the shield on longer trips. I ended up changing out my HD windshield with the Windvest brand sheild; smoke color, a lot thicker material, sturdy, works and looks great on my bike.
