Default Risers and Drag Bars

I have a Softail Street Bob (FXBB). I am interested in buying risers and drag bars for it but I am concerned with the height of the risers for myself. I am 5' 6" and want to still be able to see the electro speedo at the top of the risers. I just want some insight on what others have done, and maybe if I could get some info how how some like the pull back on the risers as well... I am stuck between the 8in risers and 10 in risers.

All you really need is some pullback risers and drag bars. Get whatever size and pullback that fits with your clamp and you're set. You have a much easier setup than most of us older breakout riders had. Even at 5'6, it shouldn't be a hard swap.

Not sure what risers you are looking at, but for Drag Bars to be comfortable, IMHO, you need them to rise up AND pull back.... That is usually achieved with a set of pullback risers, with the drag bars mounted to the risers....

I recently put drag bars on my '01 Springer from Wild Ones. They were a one-piece set up... both bars and risers . They list as 6" rise with 11" pullback. At 5'8", I find them very comfortable...

They remind a lot of the drag bars on my old 1978 FXS, which I likes a lot. I believe that bike had 4" or 6" risers, and I forget the amount of pullback.

There is a new look going around where the drag bars go straight up, no pull back (or very little), kind of "Ape Hanger" drag bars... I don't like the look, nor do they look comfortable to me.... but to each their own...

Here's a few pics of my Springer drag bar installed...

I agree about the pullback. My Night Train OEM setup was drag bars with 6" straight risers. I kept the bars but changed the risers to 8" pullbacks. Much more comfortable.

I’ll third the pullback drags. Put wild one 8” pullback on my 15 fxdb. Found it way more comfortable and much better wrist position than the stock mini apes.

I've always liked the control you get with drag bars, less leverage though. I think the high ape drag bars look funny.

I have the Wild One 8" pullback on my Lo and FXR, wouldn't mind if they were an inch shorter on the ends, but they are comfortable. They are quality, don't go cheap.

Can't see how you'd have any visual problems with any reasonable drag bar setup.

Harley makes them too. Available at a discount online from a few Harley dealers.
