Softail springer trail calculations
Looking for some insight on calculations for trail for my springer front end. Im using some of the simple calculators online to sort out the rough range, but these all geared toward standard front ends. Standard front ends have a 2.4 offset from the steering neck.
Stock fl springers have 0 offset at the neck with a negative 3 degree rake. The rocker arm measures 4.5 inches from the rigid fork centerline to the axle centerline which helps account for the lack of an offset. Is it a safe assumption that we can use this 4.5 in place of where you would typically place the calculation for offset? Or is there a better method to calculate?
