Default ‘18 Deluxe Engine Guard

I’ve searched, and didn’t find the answer I was looking for. It may be out there, I just couldn’t find it, I bought the nostalgic engine guard PN 49037-5A for my 18 deluxe and there is no way this thing is booting up lest I beak out the torch and heat the absolute **** out of it and contort it to do so. So, seeing as that’s not gonna happen, has anyone else installed this part on your deluxe?

Harley web site says the part number is for a ‘17 softail...

‘18 is a different Part Number 49000138

2017 and 2018 softails are different bikes

Totally different frames on the two bikes.

the 2018 was a total redesign year.... very little part interchangeability.

I’m thinking you’re correct. My problem is the placement of the crossbar between the down tubes. It’s two inches lower than where it needs to be when the guard is bolted on with the two bolts on the bottom frame.

I’m going to attempt at fabbing a bracket to make it work. If it does, I’ll post before and after pics.

What's the rush? Definitely looks like you have the wrong part and dealer is BS'ing. Why not take your time and get the correct part?

they don’t make the actual part I want for my bike. They make other guards, just not the one I want. It’s a simple bracket to make.
