Since the bike is not under warranty, it is just a mater of doing the break in correctly.
On that note HD used to require regular oil be used (for at least the first 500 miles {I beleive but could be wrong}).
Was that due to the synthetic oil of the time or something else..... I am not sure.
Did it come with the manual, if it did read through it and I bet it will tell you.
I'd break the motor in with mineral based oil and once I knew the rings were seated switch over to synthetic. You will get a lot of different opinions on the oil and the break in procedure.
