Guys, need your help and opinion, this might be a stupid question, but it pisses me off every time I go gas up my '07 fatboy. I would put the gas nozzle all the way in the tank, but as soon as I start to gas, I hear all of it go in the tank, but a good amount of it comes out, and gets all over the tank. Does this happen to anyone else??? It happens the most at the costco gas station, but sometimes happens at other places too........Any thoughts????
I just hold the vapor sleeve in one hand and insert the nozzle just inside the opening, then add the gas very slowly. Doesn't take long anyway, only holding 5 gallons.
I hold the nozzle over the hole so i can see when its full, I still spill occaisonally especially when the nozzle doesnt allow you to put gas in slowly, sometimes its either on or off, but ti works good usually
I take a shop rag with me every where I go, wrap it around the gas nozzle when you put it in and it will soak up any gas that comes out. Just gota keep an eye out on the gas level
When filling up just put the nozzel in about an inch but before you fill it get yourself a paper towel or two and wrap it around the nozzel so if some gas comes out the towel will absorb it and no gas will come out of the tank.

Take the cap, turn it over (upside down). Put the nozzle over the bottom of the cap, tip the nozzle up. The most I've ever gotten is a 1/4 of a cap full. Place the cap on the seat (I put mine on the footboard). Put the nozzle over the hole in the tank, tip it up. Now you have the gas you used to spill all over your tank in the cap. When finished filling up,postionthe cap over the hole turn it up pouring the gas into the tank. There ya go, no gas outside the tank.

Have you tried another gas station? I only use Chevron or 76. I stick the pump all the wayin, tip ituntil it locks in place and hold it tight until it stops. Lift the pump, retract the rubber slip up, hold itand fill her up to the top slowly. Some gas may spill, just clean it.
