Which connector did you clean ? If you cleaned the connector that leads to the side stand sensor , and now the " side stand " message only displays intermittently , I would say your on the right track . That sensor needs a specific amount of voltage to work properly . Check your battery voltage as well , including a load test , clean and tighten your POS and NEG battery cables . Could be that you just need a new side stand sensor .
