Braking on a Springer Classic
All excellent things to hear. That was really just my one concern. I did take the MSF course last year so I've definately been using both front and rear brake when coming to a stop. I just wasnt sure if the single piston front brake would throw off the 70/30 ratio of front versus rear brake effectiveness in a way that would need some braking style adjustments on my part.
I'm definately going to do the same thing with the Springer that I did with the Sportster and take it down to a school parking lot in our neighborhood to practice with it a little since, at the very least, it's heavier than what I've been riding. Of course, before that practice I'll have the 15 mile ride home on the highway, but in general that doesn't require much stopping.

Dunno... the mod possibilities are endless.
Past that, I "think" the list is currently:
V&H slip-ons (torn between straight or slash down, but leaning toward slash down)
Power Commander III and new AC for Stage 1
Backrest (though I might just get sideplates and use the upright, luggage rack and pad off my Sportster for the rest since I don't see a need for them on the Sporty any more).
The list after that gets vague since I need to figure out what design theme to go with before picking grips and whatnot. The good news (or bad news for my wallet) is that this dealership is having an early bird special on August 4 from 8am to 10am where it's 20% off all parts.
Right now I'm bumming because it's thundering outside and I don't want to get the freshly cleaned new motorcycle grungy before I have a chance to throw a few coats of Zaino on there.
Don't forget that you can get at *least* 20% off on those parts just by ordering through something like ZanottiMotor.com. The dealer sales usually don't come close to what they offer.
Example: I just ordered a Stripper seat off Zanotti for $290. The MSRP / Dealer Price is $369. 20% off $369 gets you down to $295 (pre-tax).
I ordered a LOT of stuff right when I got the bike through the dealer so it was thrown into the financing. BUT, I would have saved a lotta money had I known about something like ZanottiMotor.com and bought all my parts separately through them.
Zaino is your friend!! I also dig Rejex. Good stuff for a good coat.
