I had a Road Star Warrior before the Springer Classic and it had dual fronts. I must say the single disc was noticeable at first in a difference in stopping ability, but I don't even notice it now. I do, however, use both my front and rear break in unison usually when coming to stops. Force of habit.

All excellent things to hear. That was really just my one concern. I did take the MSF course last year so I've definately been using both front and rear brake when coming to a stop. I just wasnt sure if the single piston front brake would throw off the 70/30 ratio of front versus rear brake effectiveness in a way that would need some braking style adjustments on my part.

I'm definately going to do the same thing with the Springer that I did with the Sportster and take it down to a school parking lot in our neighborhood to practice with it a little since, at the very least, it's heavier than what I've been riding. Of course, before that practice I'll have the 15 mile ride home on the highway, but in general that doesn't require much stopping.
The biggest thing you'll probably notice is how tight it will turn. With such a narrow fork at the steering head, it will turn on a dime (at slow speeds of course)!!

Forgot about that part! That's right! First ride from the HD parking lot on my FLSTSCi and I almost dumped it in the very first turn. That thing turned on the tiniest of dimes compared to my previous bike.

Well, I've picked up the new ride and it's certainly a change from my Sportster. Stopping up to the light is no problem, but I definately need to give it a little more pressure on the front brake when putting my feet down. The ride home was a lot of fun, though. I think I might want new pipes sooner rather than later, however, since it seems like the louder pipes on my Sportster really help me "feel" the motorcycle. It was weird being on the highway coming home and not hearing the engine.

Congrats! You won't notice the braking difference after a few solid rides. I've got the SE1 slip-ons with fishtails on me and every now and then I still consider going with some aftermarket setup like the V&H's for some more sound. Dunno... the mod possibilities are endless.

Heh, ain't that the truth. I've been constructing my shopping list and it just keeps growing. So far, though, I had the dealer throw on aux lights since I like them for safety. I also just went down and removed the heel shifter and put on the chrome cap there. Just personal taste there after some demo rides on a Deluxe and Roadking, and the ride home I just prefer to shift with the toe.

Past that, I "think" the list is currently:
V&H slip-ons (torn between straight or slash down, but leaning toward slash down)
Power Commander III and new AC for Stage 1
Backrest (though I might just get sideplates and use the upright, luggage rack and pad off my Sportster for the rest since I don't see a need for them on the Sporty any more).

The list after that gets vague since I need to figure out what design theme to go with before picking grips and whatnot. The good news (or bad news for my wallet) is that this dealership is having an early bird special on August 4 from 8am to 10am where it's 20% off all parts.

Right now I'm bumming because it's thundering outside and I don't want to get the freshly cleaned new motorcycle grungy before I have a chance to throw a few coats of Zaino on there.

Zaino is your friend!! I also dig Rejex. Good stuff for a good coat.

Don't forget that you can get at *least* 20% off on those parts just by ordering through something like ZanottiMotor.com. The dealer sales usually don't come close to what they offer.

Example: I just ordered a Stripper seat off Zanotti for $290. The MSRP / Dealer Price is $369. 20% off $369 gets you down to $295 (pre-tax).

I ordered a LOT of stuff right when I got the bike through the dealer so it was thrown into the financing. BUT, I would have saved a lotta money had I known about something like ZanottiMotor.com and bought all my parts separately through them.

Hmm. I hadn't heard of Rejex. I'll check it out (though I've already got all the Zaino stuff except a fresh clay bar). Thanks for the advice about Zanotti. I did look up a few things and it's like you said, stuff is a a shade below 20% less there. They are in another state also, so I might be able to save on sales tax in addition to it all.
