Default V&H fuel pak install advice...???

I had to start a new thread with this Vance & Hinds fuel pak install question....
I installed the exhaust ..no problems..and the Screaming eagle intake..

but the module and the connectors I just can't fit under my seat
without the seat putting pressure on them ???
I have a 07 Softtail Custom and I seem to can't get the seat to come all the way down without it hitting the top of the fuel pak. Its mounted directly on top of the Electronic Control Unit (ECU)...and the bottom of the seat also hits the fuel pak connectors. There is a Plastic tray I can't seem to find a place to install at all. The Tec department is closed (weekend) at V&H.....

There are two install spec sheets for the Softtail that are not very clear IMO....

any advice appreciated......

A buddy of mine measured it, and cut a square out of the pan of the seat just big enough for the module to fit into when he put the seat on...
He didn't cut any foam just the plastic seat pan, worked like a champ and you couldn't feel it when sitting on the bike...

I dont know on a 07 but on the 05s all you do is replace the stock tray (in the fender) with the V & H tray that is deeper and install the ECM and Fuelpak on top of the ECM . The tray drops the ECM a little deeper into the fender.

I did a search on the net and actually pulled up a thread that was on here a few months ago. A couple other guys suggested cutting a hole in the plastic pan to allow the module to stick through. Only problem is I have a Solo seat that is suppose to be here monday and I would like to ride the bike tomorrow for a test run. Everything is mounted correctly but the bottom of the seat is pressing right on the fuel pak. The leads are not that long either and hardly any room for the connectors too.
I hate to start cuttin' on the seat....and now I only hope I don't have to do the same for the new seat ???

guess I'll have to get the drimmel out and start whackin'....

It is very early morning here and I am trying to think how I installed mine. It really wasn't a problem. I removed the bracket holding the relays and fuses, that allows you to push all the fuses and relays down lower and allows room to sit the Fuelpack in. I never used the plastic trayat all. I used the supplied velco to secure the Furlpack. I didn't know it was difficult to do so I just did it and the seat never hit as far as I can tell.

Let us know how it runs.. Most likely it will run great but you might get some popping on decel. Its a 50\50 chance.

I did the same as LarryJ00. Did not use the tray. I had to play around with the position of the alarm module, and basically found a place to put the Fuel Pak until the seat woud fit. It is real tight but if you play around enough you will get it all stuffed under the seat.
