Default 23 on a night train with inverted forks

Hey, I'm looking to put a 23in front wheel on my 09 night train. What issues am I gonna run into? The bike already has HD inverted forks on it with a 21in front wheel.. I've heard others say the inverted forks have a little rake in them and others said they didn't. Do I need to add rake? And how can I accomplish that with these inverted forks? Thanks in advance.

Can I add rake to the trees, or do I need new trees? Do they make trees that will fit my oversized fork tubes?

You need to make sure you have enough space between the top of the fender and the bottom of the tree under full compression when you install the new tire. You will also have to check the distance between the fender and the frame on full compression to make sure you can still turn the forks. If all that clears be aware the wheel will raise the front end about an inch give or take and you will have to space your front fender up to clear the wheel. Good luck on your project.

Awesome thanks, I'll check as soon as I can. Do you know how I can add rake as to move the tire forward so not to have a clearance issue? And/or do you know how I can lower these forks?

You can lower the forks by ordering a set of Progressive Monotubes. I think they have a 2" lower than stock set. They have them at JP Cycles, Dennis Kirk, and maybe DK Custom sells them.

Really? Was told it would probably have to be a custom job. A kit makes it easy enough.

But as another poster mentioned...This will bring a taller tire even closer to your frame and bottom tree and a lot of negative trail and loss of suspension. I would suggest looking for raked trees.

Lol, yeah. Those are pretty much non existent. I've called EVERYBODY I can think of over the past few days. Only options are see how this fits and try and lower it. Or get a new front end completely. There are custom rakes trees out there but not for that HD inverted fork. Nothing for a 52mm. Hopefully an inch doesn't make that much a difference. I see people go from 19 to 21 and all the time with not much an issue. Just hoping it can be done. Really don't wanna drop another 1500 bucks for a front end.
