My problem is I just cannot get past what everyone is asking for them. Seems like they are all asking over $20K. I think they were $27k new. I guess I am just cheap. But the bike is 11 years old too. Also I do not see any advantage to the M8 bikes now being offered. They just don't do it for me.

Your first comment is probably a rhetorical question... but... they drop models because they either aren't selling (that was a good looking bike, but an expensive model... not for everybody), they run into "issues" with future production (I've read about ABS compatibility with the springer front end, but haven't fully understood the issue), and/or they become too costly to produce at an acceptable price point (sometimes, materials or production costs rise exponentially)...

I found your second comment to be very true in most cases, while I searched for a Springer... About 4 years ago, I was looking for a Springer to add to my garage.. I wanted an FXSTS... My goal was a bike with low mileage, as close to OEM as I could get, for a fair price... I looked for about 2 years.. Almost everyone I saw, that was close to what I wanted, was WAAY over priced...! Many were heavily customized, in ways I didn't want/understand. They reminded me of the saying, " a face only a mother could love..."

I finally found a bike I wanted, and a seller who was reasonable, and got a fair deal... Funny, about 6 months after I found one and bought a Springer... Many of the overpriced, over modified Springers, that were overpriced.... were still for sale... You'll have to really hunt and look around, unless you just want to plop down a bunch of cash.. Take your time... good bikes and fair prices are possible...

I agree this is a beautiful looking bike. But I have always been gun shy of the CVO110 twincams...especially the earlier build 07 thru 09 years

I've only had the bike for about 6 weeks. It's a Heritage springer, so it came stock with the fatter 16"x 3.5 than the 2.25" wheel off the standard springer. I haven't experienced porpoising , and this is my second bike with a springer front end. I posted picture in the springer thread, but here's a couple again

If you were referring to mine, it had 8150 on the clock when I got it.

Totally anecdotal, but most of the porpoising comments I've heard about Springer front ends, involve Springers without the shock, or with a worn out shock, on the front end... doesn't mean it doesn't happen, just that I have not read, or heard about it, on a properly maintained Harley Springer front end...

My FXSTS rides really well.... I'll ride my springer any time, and any where I would ride my other Harleys...

I just purchased a 2007 CVO Springer last fall. They went through the top end and replaced the base gaskets and had to change all fluids and put new tires and a battery in it as it sat for 8 years at the dealership after someone brought it in for service and never came back to get it. It only had 3463 miles on it when I bought it. Got it for 11,900.00 out the door. I also have a 2008 Crossbones and both of them ride great and are very comfortable to ride with no issues at any speed I have taken them to. I liked the Crossbones seat so much I have adapted it to the CVO and now as far as I'm concerned it is the perfect bike for me. I hardly ever ride my custom Road King anymore.

There are a lot of springers out there for sale you just need to be patient and watch for the deals. I have seen several for around 6500 to 7500 online. You just need to make sure it is a factory springer and not an aftermarket version. The extended aftermarket springers are the ones that tend to have the proposing issues in my experience.

I picked up this 2010 softail custom 3100 miles for $8500 I wish it was a springer. I may change it in the future. This thing is fun to ride

This 100% and for sure they never owned one.
My friends and I ride hard and I don't have a problem keeping up at any speed. I cut it just under 100mph cruising not because of the front end but because of the wire wheels. Not saying I havent gone past that speed, I have and the front end is as stable as my Vrod.
