Default Road my first softtail

I have been a touring rider now for a little over 5 years now on a FLH. My bike's starter is blown and I can't figure out what's wrong with it for the life of me. My friend wanted to go for a ride and I borrowed his father - in - law's fatboy and I think I fell in love. I have always enjoyed the look of a softtail. I have never realized how smooth they ride and how enjoyable they are. I think I have been convinced that a softtail will be my next bike.

Maybe it's just me but, the counter balenced motor did it for me.
Though I do like a lot about the touring models.

I know what you mean...

My FatBoy is a joy to ride, and my poor Road King just sits for the most part.

I sold my RoadKing to my sister and bought a Heritage Softail Classic, same as a FatBoy except with bags and windshield and spoke wheels. The Heritage is so much nicer to ride; you sitlower and more stretched out. I really did like the rumble of the rubber mounted motor, but the counter balanced engine is fine too.

I have three friends that ride road kings so whenI was looking to buy a bike I was looking at them and softails. The road king is what I thought I wanted. Well I went and looked at a deluxeand I could not leave with out having it. I just rode a road king for the first time last week to see what it could have been. I will just say I am quite happy with the decision on buying my softail. Much easier and funner to ride.

Very happy with mine, just can't wait to get it paid down some so I can start adding the extras.
