Has anyone installed the 200mm Hogpro kit on their Deuce. Interested in how easy it was and how it looks and handles. They say it just bolts right on with no mods to fender, swingarm, etc. Anyone?????
I just purchased the Vega by RCcomponents in the 18 x 5.5
and will be installing a Metzeler 200 tire on it. I'm not exactly
sure how he's going to do it but the hub needs to be offset
a touch, perhaps shave the rear caliper a touch and minor
work to be done to the inside of the fender to fit the 200. I'll
let you know more when I actualy get everything and start
the install. Which should be in about a month from now.
An 18x5.5 with either a 180 or 200mm can fit onto and be perfectly centered on a 2000-2005 model without much difficulty and 0 offset if you use the new 06' 7/8" belt and belt sprocket. The 06' upper and lower belt guards will also bolt onto your stock softail swingarm.
The four parts one needs for a 200 conversion (sprocket, pulley, belt and chain guard), Thanks for this info. Would this work on an 05 FXST? I know there would be tire clearence issues for the rear fender. But a 180 would be oh so close. 160 aways works, but is the same as a 150 to me. Do they make 170's?
Or does a Standard owner need to change out the fender, which I do not want to do unless I could bolt on a Duece fender.
Thanks
wmi: Using the stock fender best your gonna do is get a Metzeler 160 under there. An Avon 160 won't fit. And the only way your gonna get a 180 under there is if you replace the rear fender and cut the fender struts.
MegaHDman, I talked directly with HogPro and they said a 200mm tire fits under the stock fender no problem. Need new 2006 belt and pully but thats it.....talked with him for a while to ensure and he even sent me pics (see their website).....
A 200mm under a stock fender? Unless its an 06' Softail Standard or 06' Night Train, they are full of ****. A 200mm or even a 180mm tire will not fit into a stock softail fender, let alone with the stock fender strut horns.
If you have a Deuce you can fit a 180mm tire under the fender, you cannot properly fit a 200mm without the proper SAFE clearance.
Ive worked on countless HD softail bikes up to the current year. I know the limitations.
What's up Mega?
I'm putting a 200 tire on my 05 Deuce and was wondering
if you had any sugjestions on what type of fender I could
put on her?
I'm also informed that I might have to cut off my fender horns.
Strutless? With Struts? What do you think??

P.S. Couldn't I just straighting out the fender horns??
