Float Bowl Accelerator Jet Test
On my carb Heritage I have fuel dripping out of the accelerator pump boot even when parked up with the stopcock left on. I donnt normally leave it on.
The prime suspect is the accelerator pump diaphragm. I pulled the diaphragm and it looks Ok no holes or Rios that I can see. Put the diaphragm back in then pulled the float bowl.
Proceeded to test the accelerator pump diaphragm by putting some fuel in the float bowl and pushing the plunger rod expecting to see fuel spurting out through the float bowl accelerator pump jet......but nothing. The hole appears to be free.
I still suspect the accelerator pump diaphragm. Trouble is I live on an island with no parts readily available. From order to delivery at least 2 weeks.
Question ....Is the float bowl accelerator jet permanently fixed in the bowl or can it be removed for inspection and cleaning. Or is the general consensus that its the accelerator pump diaphragm? Maybe its just too tired.
Incidentally, the float condition and setting is all good.
Thanks for your help guys 😂
