Im looking to cholo out my springer. Stretch fenders front and back with a paint job. Owning a 100 anniversary with the blue paint set, I'll likely take each piece, Bubble wrap, and store for the future. In my search for new tins, I found a unused straight from factory tank for $300 and also a black 100 anniversary tin set (with striping) for $575. The latter set looks like its made for a narrow front tire and bobbed rear fender.
i dont need the whole set here, but thinking I could make some extra coin painting the tank and selling the fenders separate. Any thoughts on this and where you all might go?
If you have the spare cash to throw at it, I'd think it could be a cool project, but paint will be everything on it. As far as selling the extra tins, no reason you couldn't make back most of that and be nearly at square one when you start. I'd consider the cost of the wheel and bars and pipes too before getting too deep.
Can you let me know where you found the black tin set if you are not going to buy it for $575.00. Thank you. michaelbrycewinnick@mbwinnick.com or 906 748 5666. Thanks MBW
Do something "different"
The "Cholo, Vicla" theme has been flogged to death. They all look the same now.
Im gonna cholo it, but gonna go for a Celtic theme. Seeing as I have welsh/scotch heritage, was thinking of going with the stock blue with flake silver and gold flake knots/ Celtic crosses brought in somehow. Already found some floorboards to fit the plan.
