Default Bike rebuild electric issues 2005 Softail Deluxe

Hey guys, hope everyone is well.

2005 Deluxe Softail

I have been rebuilding my bike over the UK winter, this included stripping down (whilst documenting and bagging everything to make rebuild easier), sending frame off for powder, making the cylinder jugs look fresh again ( new piston rings and gaskets have been fitted) then building back together.

I'm at the stage where I've got the engine back, starter, gear box etc are in all in (I've yet to attach inner primary, clutch basket etc).

I have decided to sort out the wiring as the wires were too long after I extended them for new bars.

wires have been shortened as required, went to test my soldering but some functions don't work.

My brake light comes on as it should when pressing front brake lever, the hi/lo headlight works as it should. I believe my cut off switch works as well as I can hear a click, but indicators and horn don't work?

I've tested the wires with a multimeter, there's no resistance so they should all work, but it doesn't?

Does the bike have to be running for indicators to work?
Also, when pressing the start switch, I'm not seeing my starter motor doing its job (the clutch basket isn't installed yet as I wanted to check I've wired the starter up correctly)

Starter plugged into the battery and circuit breaker as required.

Electrics are my weak point so any help is much appreciated.

Also forgot to mention that I'm doing a efi to carb conversion, currently waiting for my new ignition module so can't start the bike.

Found the issue.
that gray plug was the wrong way round, there wasn't any slots to make sure it goes in one way.

Flipped it round and started working. I put it the wrong way around again to test the theory and this time round the right indicator light on the dash stayed on when turning the ignition switch?

Anyway it's all working now!

As for the signals, I slightly remember on my bike always wondering why the hazards can't come on if the bike isn't running (never tried the horn with the bike off), so I'm going to wait till it's all back together to test that theory.

lmfao...been there, done that. All you can do is laugh.
Another time my blind **** crossed wire in the connector on reassembly, color stripe was so close to the same hue...chuckles
